CAUGHT BETWEEN THE CROSSFIRE

"Hi, I'm Wopara" he said extending his hand to the lady beside him. "I'm Linda" she said.
Making friends comes easily to any higher institution graduate. Wopara asked Linda whether she was among them; the newly deployed corpers. She replied in the affirmative before adding "what would have been taking me to Maidu if not for this compulsory Otondo service".
Wopara laughed at her seemingly annoyance at going to the north. It was not as if he had intended to serve in the North either but he had learnt to accept his fate in good faith. He then suggested to Linda that maybe they will all get to enjoy the service year. Then, he added; " I have been posted to serve in Maidu too.
One of the travelers shouted from behind, "what!!!! You mean there was another bomb blast today at Maidu?????"
In shock all the other travelers turned to him with expressions of awe, fear and uncertainty. Questions were already on-going to confirm the news. Some travelers switched on their mobile phones in a bid to reach out for anyone who they believe would be reliable. Others switched on their mobile data to browse through some social media networks. One shouted; 'check lidakeji blog. We can count on her reliability'. Some of the corps members began to panic. They wondered whether they were not being sacrificed going to Maidu when it was up in flames already. Then one of the corps members began to read from lida keji's blog; 'Bomb blast at a church in Maidu, scored dead: Another bomb just went off in Maidu few minutes ago. Many are feared dead with a number of casualties being recorded. More details to follow…….'.
When the corps members heard that the blast was actually in a church, another bout of debate ensued. Some argued that the Buka Taram group was a Hati supported group whose mission was to flush out the Christians in the North. Some.......
